The Lost Thing

A young boy finds a strange, lost creature on the beach while collecting bottle caps. Unnoticed by everyone else, the boy decides to help the creature find where it belongs. The Lost Thing is a gently humorous and thought-provoking story, with surreal illustrations by Shaun Tan, blending typical youthful observations with a unique twist. This was the first book Tan both wrote and illustrated.
